Polstar was founded in 1983.
It was a boom time for textile and ready made garment exporters to European countries. Most of the
well - known garment and textile facotries were established during this period like Polstar. Almost all
factories increased their production capacities until early 90's to supply the strong demand.
Then, after demolishing the Berlin - wall, the buying behaviour of our customers started to
change. Everybody became more selective in quality and service that we provide for them.
We have realized that a new era is starting, business practices and priorities are transforming.
Polstar should adopt a new strategy, putting the customer first, and to have a new goal: to create more value for
its customers.
We upgraded the ready made garment factories with more technically fit sewing machines,
automatic fabrics cutting devices, CAD - CAM and design computers to save more time, increase productivitiy
and qualitiy. In Izmit area, we have 9 different garment production units.
What Polstar has made as capital investment and acquired better technology was not enough to be
competitive in an unstable world market. Investment in human side is becoming more impotant than capital and
technological side. Human capital is nr. 1 priority in our vision for Polstar and there is all over the year
training program from top manager to shop floor workers. Each of us in our corporations must learn what's going
on beyond factory walls and cafeterias.
The main impact of the globalization to the corporations is the "test of flexibility to change"
in every aspect. It is impossible to maintain continuity without change. If your company is not able to adapt
itself to the fast changing environment, there is no hope for survival. For this reason, we believe that human
capital is the most valuable asset and that capable of immense achievement. Without unleashing the unseen human
potential, there is only status quo performance and business as usual philosophy.
We aim to develop a sense of connectedness with our customers and suppliers, working, learning
and interacting with each other at all levels. That the global business is becoming much more complex and dynamic.
In short, we, all of us, customers and suppliers have get to reposition ourselves against the future as the global
world changes. Because "the future ain't what it used to be"
